Facts (with source information): Narrative Report

What's so sad about these records?
Augusta Dvorak Spies is shown as a patient at the Arsenal Street Hospital in the 1940 census. The record says she had lived there since 1935 (or earlier). She died there in 1972. There is no information available about her diagnosis or how she was admitted to the hospital. The hospital says that privacy laws prevent them from sharing anything, even though she is dead and we are her direct descendants. We do have the information from the military cemetery. And eventually her Missouri death certificate will be available.
