Son of Anton Stoll and Franziska Zittel √
Husband of Marie Baumler √

Facts (with source information): Narrative Report

What's so great about these records?
There is a baptism record in Muggensturm, Germany, and there is a marriage record in St. Louis that gives the same town as his place of origin. It is unusual to have primary records on both sides of the Atlantic for an immigrant.

1831 Baptism

This is an entry from a database on FamilySearch. It gives the information from the original baptism record, and it identifies the microfilm that has the record. One must visit a Family History Center in order to see the actual record. I haven’t done that yet. But at least we know the record still exists, in spite of two world wars in Europe.

1883-1895 Grandchildren Named Reichert

The children of Andreas’ daughter Maggie Reichert were born in Burlington, Iowa before birth certificates were required. Later, four of them applied for delayed birth certificates, which are documents that may be issued if there is an eyewitness to the birth who is willing to make a sworn statement. The Reicherts had their mother swear to the veracity of their applications. So we have Maggie Stoll Reichert’s sworn statements, and the information includes Maggie’s place of birth: Louisville, Kentucky.

So, the Stoll family must have been in Louisville at least part of the time between Andreas’ 1858 marriage and 1870, when they appear in the census in Burlington.

1889 Clara and 1895 Elsie

Census Records:

1870 Census

The two oldest children were born in Kentucky. There are several Iowa birth records for the children of Eva Margaret Stoll (Maggie) that say she was born in Louisville, Kentucky. I haven’t found any records for this family between 1858 and 1870. But they must have spent some time in Kentucky.
