Beck Line

Grosselfingen, Germany

Henry A. Beck of Burlington, Iowa, was the grandfather of Carol Anita Weiss. His parents were immigrants from Grosselfingen, Hohenzollern, Prussia. They brought four children with them from Europe and had four more children in Iowa. Their eldest child, Henry Beck, was killed at Vicksburg in 1863. Their youngest child, born in 1865, they named “Henry,” and he is the root person in the ancestor chart you see below.

This family line was documented using transcriptions of baptism, marriage, and burial records from Grosselfingen, Germany. Each file includes the film number and image number where the primary record may be found. The primary records are protected online because of the agreement between the Family History Library and the Catholic diocese in Germany. One may see them, but only in a family history center, using their computer. As you will see, there are many records for this family line. I should try to see (and perhaps copy) the originals.
