√ Son of Edna Inez Stratton
…
In 1905, people born in St. Louis did not get birth certificates. There is a birth record, but the information is very scanty. It does not identify Andy unambiguously. However, when he applied for a marriage license in 1934, he named both his parents. A nice, clear primary record.Edna Inez Stratton (1877)

√ Daughter of Isabel Main
…
Proof that she is Isabel Main’s daughter and Jonas Main’s granddaughter is the transcript of Case M0161, Delaware County Court of Common Pleas, 22 January 1856. The text calls Anna “the child” and gives her birth date (January 6, 1856).Isabel Main (1832)

√ Daughter of Jonas Main
…
The proof that she is Jonas Main’s daughter is a court case in which her father sues a young man for failing to marry Isabel (breach of promise of marriage). A lessor proof is this 1850 census record wherein she appears in his household in Delaware County, Ohio.

Also listed in the family are her brothers Martin Main and Henry Bliss Main, both of whom served the Union during the Civil War. Martin Main was killed at Chancellorsville in May of 1863. Henry was a prisoner of war in Louisianna, and later lived through the siege of Vicksburg.

Sabeers Main (1786-1869)
Son of Sabeers Main and Hannah Cole
…
There is a copy of his father’s will in Abingdon, Washington County, Virginia. Will book 3, page 149. (Probate occurred there.) That will is proof that he is the son of Sabeers Main and Hannah Cole. The will book is on FamilySearch, but has a privacy protection. I will go to a Family History Center and get a copy of the will, if possible.
…
In 1827 Sabeers witnessed his mother’s will. Unfortunately, the will does not name all her children, and although he and his brother were witnesses, the will does not say outright that they were her sons.

The record of his birth was included in the Barbour Collection. That collection was made by people who visited many New England towns and copied vital record information.
