Edna Inez Stratton (1877-1966)

Edna Inez Stratton was the mother of Lee A. Stephens.  She was born in Delaware County, Ohio.  She lived in Illinois and in St. Louis.  When her first marriage ended, she moved to Wyoming, where she married again.  A few years later she moved to Amarillo, Texas.

Edna visited Denver, Colorado, when her mother died in 1929.  She claimed a small diary that her mother wrote in 1874-1875.  At the back of the diary were some blank pages, which she used to record dates from “the family bible.”  Apparently the bible was in Denver and Edna saw it in 1929.  We still have the diary, but we do not have the bible.
